What the ‘Big Ten’ needs to do to keep up with Ohio State and Michigan

Ohio State has not played a single game this season.

The Buckeyes are 5-0 and looking for their first Big Ten championship since 2004.

Michigan has lost five straight games, which is tied for the most in school history.

Ohio State hasn’t won more than eight games in a season since 1979.

The Big Ten and its conference-leading conference opponent have been playing with a 3-5 record and just 0-6 overall.

The league is in third place in the conference standings.

The conference has gone 0-5 in games played in the last six months, including 1-8 in games since the start of last season.

ESPN.com ranked the Buckeyes at No. 4 and the Wolverines at No 1.

The Buckeyes, however, had a chance to win the Big Ten Conference title on Sunday night against Wisconsin.

The Badgers defeated the Buckeye on a last-second field goal with 9:36 remaining.

“It’s a very important game,” Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said.

“We can’t go 0-2 in the Big 12, but we can go 3-0.”

Ohio State beat Wisconsin on Nov. 18, 2016, 24-24 in the season opener.

The Ohio State defense, which included defensive end/linebacker Jabrill Peppers, was dominant.
