The bench press clip art is an art form and I think it’s probably one of the most powerful tools we have to teach the babies how to bench press.
I’m not even sure I’m a fan of the whole thing.
You know, they’re just so busy with things like brushing teeth and eating and everything else.
And they’re kind of just constantly checking on themselves and stuff, and I mean, I think that’s great.
But they’re constantly looking around for stuff.
And you know, I mean what else are you supposed to do?
What else are we supposed to be doing?
You know what I mean?
So, you know what, I’m gonna stop and let the kids play with these things, and that’s fine.
You’ve gotta respect that.
But, it’s one of those things where I’m just really curious as to why, if they’re so used to it, they never learned to press.
And then, I don’t know, there’s a whole thing of people who don’t even want to lift weights, and there’s other things that they don’t want to do, and you know how that works?
And so I’m curious, why do people keep going back and forth between the two?
I think I just really like this clip, because it’s really like an artist rendering, and then the kid just kind of sits on the ground, and he’s like, “Oh, this is the one I love.”
And then they’re like, and the kid looks up at him, and says, “No, no, no.
This is the wrong one.
I want to be like this one.
This one is too big.
And this one is way too heavy.
And I just want to get my back in this one, you don’t wanna do that.”
And then he goes, and it’s just this amazing thing, because I think the kids are just so used, and they just know what they want.
And so, when they hear this, they feel really confident.
And like, they have a sense of confidence that they can do this, and when they feel confident, then they can move forward, and everything just flows better.
But then they have to go back and do this again and again.
And it’s like a really big, massive process, because you just need to be in this state of self-discipline and self-motivation to do this thing that you love.
I mean the whole point of this clip is to teach them to do it.
I’m just fascinated by the whole concept of the bench press and what it is.
It’s really a simple movement.
You can really do anything.
It just requires a little bit of focus.
I love the bench.
I mean I love that one.
Like, I love it.
I know you love it too.
But it’s not something that you do.
I just like that.
I don’ like doing that, and, you can do whatever you want.
I can do that.
It might not be what I want, but it’s something that I want.
You don’t have to do that at all.
You just have to take it a step at a time.
I think, like, I just love the whole idea of the barbell.
I think I love this one and that one and all these others.
I actually love doing the bench, because there’s something really good about doing it.
You have to get a little tired.
You go, “Wait a minute, I have to train this thing, and what do I do?”
You gotta train it.
And that’s why you have to have a really good set of arms.
You gotta be able to put the weight on and move it.
So, it just has to be a really, really good day.
I don’t like the bench because it feels like a big step.
I hate the bench just because it seems like it has too much weight.
I wish it was just like a flat, straight bar, like a bar that’s going up and down like a basketball.
I’d be like, okay, I’ll do it, and we’ll go from there.
But, I really don’t care if it’s a flat bar.
I could get the bar right in my hands and be like “Oh my God, this looks awesome.”
And I’d feel like, wow.
And, like that’s not good.
That’s not what the bench is about.
And the bench feels too much like, this isn’t really about the bench at all, it really is about what I need to do in this situation.
But like, it also feels like it’s too big for the baby.
Like this is like, we need to lower it, like “We need to keep it down.”
Like, like this is not the way to do things
